AMY BRODE, D.O., FACOS, , is the founder of THE BALANCE POINT: INCLUSIVE WELLNESS. I am board certified in urology and a fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons. In addition to completing my urologic residency through Michigan State University and over 20 years practicing urology, I have also chosen to complete specialized training in menopause care. I pursued and complete training through the Heather Hirsch Academy and the North American Menopause Society to become a Certified Menopause Care Provider. My specialty practice focuses on menopausal hormone therapy, perimenopause, sexual dysfunction, bone health, and other conditions common to women in midlife. I am an active member of the North American Menopause Society, International Society for the Study of Women’s Sexual Health, College of Osteopathic Surgeons, American Urological Association, Society for Women In Urology.

As I started my journey through perimenopause, I realized how misinformed many people (including health care providers) are about the options for improving this next phase of our lives. Throughout my career, I have cared for patients and address their genitourinary health and sexual health. As an osteopathic physician, holistic care is in my core. It has always been my practice to address the whole patient, including their mental health, family situation, and their connections into the community. I had always tried to help my patients, but did not have the most up to date information and skills to better treat them. That is when I took it upon myself to start learning everything I could about caring for perimenopausal and menopausal people.

When I am not at work, I am mom to two amazing teenage boys (maybe I am biased). I have an adorable, loving goldendoodle. I have jumped into the rage of pickleball and am getting addicted. When I have time, I love live music. Volunteering at a local food pantry in their greenhouse and garden has been a very fulfilling activity. Camping, exploring and traveling are some of my other passions.
